My friends, I have exciting news to share with you. For a while we’ve been looking for the right people to take on the daily operations of Djembe Drums and Skins. I am happy to say we found them. Let me introduce two really great people, Brigid and DeerHawke—people who you will enjoy getting to know if you don’t know them already. They have been working side by side with us for many years and they are now ready to take on the full operation of the business.
As you may remember, Sandy and I began building and selling beautiful, shop-built drums over 25 years ago. The work has been the passion and professional love of our lives. Several years ago, I taught two drum makers, DeerHawke and Chris, how to build a basic drum, and they took their training to new and exciting heights. The teacher became the student. DeerHawke and Chris do excellent work and I think you will be proud to own, or to sell to your customers, their gorgeous, custom drums. Because of their enthusiasm and pride in craftsmanship, you will continue to receive first-rate products and exceptional service.
As we begin the transition process, you will hear Brigid’s voice on the phone instead of Sandy’s. Brigid is very helpful, competent, and dedicated to the smooth process of fulfilling your order. If you get a chance, please give her a call to say hi; she would love hearing from you. The transition will take place over the next several months. I will still be around to help out and to serve as a consultant. It’s been great getting to know you, and Sandy and I treasure your friendship.
Wishing you the best of everything, Shorty and Sandy
