We bought our son a djembe for Christmas '99 and he played the heck out of it until recently (feb. 2008) when it split - lasted 9 years! Best Christmas gift ever given and rec'd when it arrived on Christmas Morn as promised. He is on an album 'Wendy Nichol' - one of many accomplishments with the djembe. Skins
Shorty, I ordered 2 goatskins and 120ft of rope 2 days ago. Too my surprise they arrived today. I am excited! Of the two skins, one had a nice "holiday" near the rear. Since my djembe has a 20in rim, it wouldn't quite work out. I called Shorty up, and he said no problem, I am sending you a new one now... and keep the old one just in case I have a smaller drum. I will be doing business with you again for sure, and will refer everyone I know to you. You are the man!!! –RS, Wisconsin

Just ordered two skins from Shorty and could not
be happier with the sound of my djembe. My first attempt to re-head the drum with a skin from another source left me with a flat tone that could not be tuned up. I ordered thin shaved skins from Shorty and the drum tuned up
nicely. Highly recommended. GH, Wisconsin

Hey Shorty. I replaced my djembe head last night with the one you sold me (and with the help of the video I purchased from you a while back). Though it hasn't finished drying yet, it looks beautiful, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Tank Drums

Hey Shorty, The tank drum arrived yesterday. Very cool! I sat in the garage and played for about 45 minutes as soon as I opened it up. You shouldn't
have any trouble selling these once you get them into production.

I really enjoyed meeting you and your wife at drumstrong. What an event. My drum sounded great and actually improved with play. I was able to listen to it being played by a really good player from a distance. It was a great was to appreciate its voice from a different perspective.
