Shorty picked up several Guinea Djembe shells in NYC right before Hurricane Sandy hit. We are finally getting photos of them up on the web for you to see. "Diamonds in the Rough", these shells have not been cleaned up and some have cracks from shipping and probably climate change. Most of the cracks are on the surface and can be easily fixed. They will not effect the sound of the drum.Other cracks are larger, and can be repaired. Shorty is happy to do that or you can buy them at a very good price and repair them yourself. Shorty picked up a shipment of small and large Djembes and also Djun sticks from Ghana at the airport yesterday. A bigger shipment of Djembes, Conga Shells, and Djun Djuns all from Ghana is on the high seas on the way here and expected very soon. Ivory Coast An air shipment of 700 goatskins with and without hair and also 30 small Djembes are due to arrive later this week. Shorty is Cleaning out the Skin Shed to make way for the new goatskins. He is putting some skins that are 20 - 22 " wide on sale. These goatskins are from Ivory Coast and come with hair or hairless. The sale price is $14 each for 1 - 9 and $120 for a 10 pack. Paralounge Fall 2012 was Spectacular. We had 3 Vertical Pulling Tables in use and many djembes and other hand drums got new heads or repaired. We show cased some new items including Table Top Jumbie Jams, small Djembes from Mali, and handmade Djembe and Frame Drum Cases.
